Dear Parents,

At the risk of jumping the gun before the first sight of snow flurries, we thought it would be useful to remind you of our policy for communicating with parents in case of extreme weather.

Kiddies Kottage is committed to minimising disruption to our children’s education and will always endeavour to keep the school open wherever possible. When the school is open during poor weather conditions, staff will supervise all children. Staff will make every effort to keep the routine as normal as possible.

Parents should always make the decision to send their children to school in adverse weather conditions on the basis of their safety in travelling to and from the nursery. Please consider the possibility of the weather worsening during the day when making your decision.

Should conditions deteriorate during the day, the school will make every effort to contact parents as soon as possible. An emergency text would be sent to all parents and all parents emailed as well. Please check your text and email regularly. In an eventuality that children have to go home, please make arrangements to pick them. Be assured that children will be looked after until they are picked up.

Where we have no alternative but to close the school prior to the start of the school day, we will contact parents via text at 7am. As soon as a decision is made, a notice will also be emailed to parents. As the situation progresses, we will send updates.

Thanks for your understanding.

Sherry, Nursery Director
