Wishing you all a happy, wonderful and peaceful 2022. As the new year and new term begin, there are a few things we would like to bring to your attention

What you wish for your child

As we resume, you will be given a small piece of paper to write down what you like your child to achieve this term in terms of their learning and development. With your support, the key worker will work towards these intentions during the term. These will also be reviewed during the parent’s evening.

Early opening

We are providing a new service for parents who need to drop their children off early between 7:30am and 7:45am. Please indicate if you are interested. Please note that this service comes at an additional cost.

Google reviews

A big thank you to all the parents who took time to give us a review on google. It is not late to give yours via this link https://g.page/r/CT366rQEyZlMEAg/review . Thank you in advance.

Account for lunch payments

Last year, we had quite a few challenges with the payment for lunch. To make things easier, we have decided payment should be made by bank transfer into an account. Reference should include child’s name and the week being paid for. Payments should be made weekly or monthly in advance. It is embarrassing having to ask for payment so please ensure the lunch is paid for. Only extra hours payment will be taken at the nursery.

These are the bank account details:

Kiddies Kottage Nursery
Sort Code: 205776
Account No:93260674

Conjunctivitis

Towards the end of last term, a few of our children got infected with conjunctivitis. While we are aware no eye drops are given from some of the GPs and the infection has to clear up by itself, we want to politely ask that the child is not brought into the setting till the eyes are clear. Conjunctivitis is contagious. Please help us protect other children and staff.

Daily updates written on the board

As promised, daily updates are written on the board. It states what activities children have engaged in and what they had for lunch and tea. We have observed some parents are not reading them. Unfortunately, we cannot write daily dairies for the toddlers and pre-schoolers as before. Ofsted states that “reducing paperwork is a key aim of the new early years foundation stage (EYFS) framework. This is so you (staff) can spend more time engaging with children.” Writing diaries takes staff away from quality time they should be spending with your children. If you have suggestions on how to keep you informed, we would be happy to hear from you

Home learning bags

Some home learning bags are not being returned. Please ensure that they are returned once your child has finished with the activity.

Fee revision

For the past three years, we have done our best to provide service without an increase in the fees despite the the adverse economic situation. This is no longer sustainable. This is a notice that after the Easter break, we will increase our fees slightly. The accountants are working on the details and we will inform you in due course.

We thank you for your continued support. Great and exciting things coming!
