Yaay! It’s the half term again and we have a great summer to look forward to.

Welcome to our termly newsletter which gives you an update of happenings at Kiddies Kottage Nursery.

Ofsted Inspection Report

We are delighted to inform you that Ofsted has rated our nursery “GOOD”. Thank you to all parents for your support and positive feedback. Also, a big thanks to all the staff at Kiddies Kottage. We will be aiming for “OUTSTANDING” in the next inspection.

You asked for it, we gave it

In the answers to our questionnaire, some of the parents requested a bigger buggies shed, more use of ICT, a more varied menu, separate rooms for the different age groups and improved communication with parents. We have now made the buggy shed bigger, we now have games children can play on the computers and more ICT toys, and we have put out advert for a chef and we will keep on improving our means of communicating with you.

This is just a reminder that we have an open door policy so parents can come at any time if needed. Unfortunately, we do not have the space to put the toddlers and pre-schoolers in separate rooms. We think being together is an advantage for them because the younger ones get to learn and interact with the older children. We will keep on looking for ways to improve our service.

Online journals

From June, we will start to use the online journals to assess, observe and review the learning and development of our children.  As mentioned previously, parents will have to give us consent. With this new method, parents can log in to view and comment on the progress of their children.

Can you come in to read to us?

We would like to take this opportunity to make an open invitation to any parent who would like to come in on any Friday morning between 9am-10am to read to the children. It would provide an opportunity to be involved in the children’s learning. We want as many parents as possible involved.

Dates for your diary

8th of June: Coffee morning (9am-10am)

24th of June: Trip to the Ladyland Farm

13th of July: Sports day (We will have a picnic at the park and you can take your child home after)

To be confirmed: Date children’s picture will be taken.
