These past few days have been one of the scariest times in my life. Not for myself but for the members of my team as they battled the virus. Some have severe symptoms and others mild. Some of their family members contracted the virus from them. They risked their health and that of their relatives in the line of duty.

Not one of them gave an excuse not to come day in, day out. They had a choice to remain on furlough but for the love of the children in our care, they turned it down. For this, I am grateful.

As I can imagine for you as parents also ,you must be worried and anxious for your little treasures; their safety and wellbeing. I share your concern too because our relationship with you as parents is based on trust as you leave these ones in our care. It is our utmost duty to preserve that relationship by making sure your children continue to be safe and cared for in the best of ways. Rest assured: we will continue to do all we can. Unfortunately, with this virus, it is very difficult to pinpoint the source of infection.

Our staff are getting better but they also need time to heal within themselves, their well-being and psyche so they can come back to the job they love, refreshed and strengthened. Also because family members contacted the virus, their isolation period is extended. As you can imagine, it is a trying time for everyone. Resumption will now be on the 18th of February 2021.

As the government has insisted the Early Years sector remain open while the schools close without the possibilities of priority in getting the vaccine, we will resume with the whole setting deeply cleaned and ready for the children. We want to say thank you for your understanding and support. Also, we say thank you to the parents who still paid so that we can pay the staff. They do really love and care for your children.

And if you can, please join me to say THANK YOU to them when you have the chance.

Please if your child has any symptoms, call 111 for advice.

Thank you,

Sherry
