We are well into the second half of the term and we hope you are getting ready for winter.

A few updates on what has happened as well as future events to note.

Incidents of Hand, Foot and Mouth disease

We had five incidents of this disease in the nursery and hopefully this would be the last of it. Please be aware that the virus incubates for 5-6 days in the child before any symptoms are noticed. We regret the inconvenience it caused our parents. We try to maintain the highest standards of hygiene in the nursery. This was a virus infection beyond our control. Please visit the NHS website for more information.

Online Journals

We have started using our online journals (Tapestry) to track and record children’s learning and development. Parents will be given a consent form to sign and will also get a password. This will enable you to log in to view your child’s journal. You can also leave your comments.

People who help us

As this is our theme for the next two weeks, we are arranging visits to the dentist, surgery and optician. Letters will be sent out to this effect.

Raising money for BBC Children in Need

Special thanks to all the parents who helped us raise £78.09 last year. This year we are hoping to raise some more money. So, on the 18th of November, we are inviting all parents to join us in making and selling some of our creations.

Home Learning Packs

Every Friday, your child will come home with a pack. It would contain activities you will do with them over the weekend. Also, there will be a feedback book in the pack. Please give us a feedback on how the child found the activity. You may even attach a photo. Photos can be emailed to [email protected] if you cannot print them. Please note that parents will be liable to pay £20 if the packs are damaged or lost.

Christmas Party

Our Christmas party will be on the 16th of December. This year’s party promises to be very exciting and different. You are all invited to come in from 10am.

Appeal for just 15 minutes of your time

If you are free on a Friday morning and you can spare 15 to 30 minutes to read to a few children, we are inviting you. Please let us know.

Closing dates for the term

The last day for the government funded childcare is the 16th of December.

For the full time childcare, it would be on the 21st of December. Please refer to the terms and conditions for the fees. The nursery will resume on Tuesday the 3rd of January. Have a lovely Christmas break. Thank you for choosing us.
